Job title: Competitive Pathway Squads Lead Coach (Part-time)

 

Job Overview

 

This part-time role is an integral part of COPS Coaching team, working directly with our Competitive (Club, County and Regional level members aged between 13-18yrs) and Masters and Participation (Masters and Open Water members) Squads.

 

There will be coaching hours in which the employee will work in support of the Head Coach and Assistant Coach, delivery Performance Pathway and Development squads sessions for 3 hours per week alongside their key role.

 

 There is the opportunity for the right candidate to make this role a full-time position after a period of assessment.

 

Accountable to: Head Coach

 

Deck side role

 

  1. Lead coaching of Competitive Squad and Masters & Participation Swim Squads.
  2. Support Coach delivery with our Development and Performance Pathway Squads.
  3. Mentor Assistant Volunteer Coaches.
  4. Attend selected Level 1-3 open meets, along with all COPS home meets.
  5. Attend selected National Arena Swimming League competitions
  6. Attend selected Cambs County Championships, Regional Age-group and Winter Championships.

 

Operational roles

 

  1. Plan and deliver cycles, weekly plans and sessions plans for all Competitive squads
  2. Collaborate with the Head Coach on planning of AM sessions
  3. Use SportsEngine to assist with attendance registration and membership updates
  4. Respond to member queries via email or in person relevant to logistical or management issue
  5. Attend monthly staff meetings with the Head Coach and Assistant Coach once for operational update and planning
  6. Ensure communication with head coach, assistant coach, chairman, treasurer, secretary, membership secretary is open to ensure membership management is advanced

 

 

Education and Development commitments

  1. Attend at least 1 club visit per year, which will be funded by the club by way of expenses towards hotel, travel and food. This must be in agreement with the head coach
  2. Attend 2-3 SwimEngland/British Swimming CPD opportunities to year
  3. Attend all COPS Coach Education Sessions run internally 5 times per season

Remuneration

 

  • £13.90 Hourly rate for all coaching hours (level 2)
  • Hourly rate for dedicated coach education and CPD
  • Expenses for milage at away meets @ £0.45p per mile. Hotel and meal reimbursement.
