Masters Squad
Our Masters squad is open to anyone 18 years and older, and offers adults the opportunity to swim for fitness, or to train for competitive swimming with the club across all levels of competitions, depending on individual goals and level of committment.
During our coached Masters sessions, sets are tailored according to ability, with a focus on improving swimming technique and stamina. We also offer our Masters members the opportunity to compete with the club across all levels including local gala events such as Arena League and Sussex League (when selected), and County, Regional, and National Level Masters Competitions.
Our Masters Squad also provide a great opportunity to meet new people who all share an enjoyment for swimming, with a number of social events held outside of training throughout the year.

Other information
Our Masters sessions often run alongside other teaching group sessions, and therefore members will be sharing the pool and changing facilities with other club members. To ensure appropriate safeguarding is in place for all our members, we ask anyone wishing to join our club, to sign a Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics, as part of the initial joining process.

September 2025 - Announcing our new Masters Captain Charlie Lindsay
At our recent Club Championships, Charlie Lindsay was announced as the new Masters captain for the 2025/26 season and was presented with a new Masters Squad captain shirt. Charlie will look to lead the Masters Squad into another sucessful swimming season!
September 2025 - Sussex Masters County Championships
Another hugely successful day at the 2025 Sussex Masters County Championships for Team Hailsham! A fanastic day of swimming saw Team Hailsham's Masters achieve a 5th place finish in the overall rankings, alongside a huge number of individual and relay team medals. The medal totals for Team Hailsham were as follows:
- x3 relay gold medals
- x1 relay silver medals
- x22 individual gold medals
- x15 individual silver medals
- x4 individual bronze medals

September 2024 - Sussex Masters County Championships
Team Hailsham Masters swimmers smashed it at the Sussex Masters Championships on Sunday September 9th, 2024. Led by our new 2024/25 Masters captain Paul Merchant, there were medals achieved by everyone in our 10 stong team, including in the relay events. In total, Team Hailsham Masters won 13 gold, 14 silver, and 8 bronze medals. Fantastic swimming from all!
November 2023 - Announcing our new Masters Squad captain Jo Read
At our recent Club Championships, Jo Read was announced as the new Masters captain for the 2023/24 season and was presented with a new club shirt to mark the occasion. An excellent achievement for Jo who will now captain our growing competitive Masters Squad!
November 2023 - Inter County Masters
Congratulations to Team Hailsham's Masters swimmers Paul Merchant, Beth Collins, and James Grimmond, who represented Sussex at the inter-county masters competion at the London Aquatics Centre.
September 2023 - Masters Sussex County Championships
Hailsham Swimming Club Masters enjoyed a hugely successful Masters Sussex County Championships 2023 at Pavillions in the Park Horsham, bringing home 8 gold, 11 siliver, and 10 bronze medals.
January 2023 - Masters South East Regional Championships
A great weekend of swimming from our Masters swimmers at the South East Regional Championships saw Team Hailsham bring home 6 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals, alongside achieving some great long course times for early season.
May 2022 - Masters Sussex County Championships
Hailsham Masters swimmers rocked the Sussex Masters County Championships at Pavillions In The Park, Horsham, with a small but very successful team.
