West District Pentaqua 2023
Gala Report
West District Pentaqua Meet
14-15 January 2023
This was our first weekend racing of 2023 and the 19 swimmers who took who were racing had a great start to their year. We have decided to put a big emphasis on process goals this year asking the athletes to set their goals prior to the meet as well as having their warm up and swim down plan in place.
The athletes did very well at focusing on the aspects of their race that they wanted to do very well in, and this resulted in some very good performances.
Process goals work well because they are all about your actions and application. Focusing on race execution, attitude and effort put an athlete in complete control of their performance. Master the process and the results will follow.
We had the following athletes finish in a top 10 position:
4th
Emma Binnie 50m breaststroke
Caelin Chan 100m Butterfly
8th
Caelin Chan 100m Freestyle
Heather Stuart 200m I.M
9th
Caelin Chan 200m I.M
10th
Emma Binnie 50m freestyle
Caelin Chan 100m Breaststroke
Well done to Emma (10th), Caelin (6th) and Heather (9th) for also finishing in the top 10 in the overall rankings for their age group.
