2023/24 Gary Barclay Trophy winner Sophie Groll with EGM Simon Beqir

The Gary Barclay Trophy was developed in 2024 in recognition of the significant contribution that Gary has had over 20+ years to Nunawading Swimming Club and Just Swimming. Gary was CEO / EGM of Nunawading Swimming Club and Just Swimming for 17 years. During this time Gary established the Just Swimming Brand and built it to be recognised as one of the strongest learn to swim programs in Victoria. He also established Nunawading Swimming Club as the powerhouse club in Victoria and amongst the strongest clubs in Australia, resulting in multiple Olympic and Australian team athletes moving to Victoria to join NSC.

The Gary Barclay Trophy will be awarded each year at presentation night to the employee determined by the EGM as having the biggest impact on the business. This could be from either Just Swimming or Nunawading Swimming Club operations.
