Chiltern League - Round 2: 2nd - This is getting better and better and better!

Another awesome night for Bletchley & District Swimming Club at the all-important 2nd round of the Chiltern League 2023. Held at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre, Leighton Buzzard, this 2nd round was pivotal. If they score enough points the team will move up into the top 6, and so compete in the Winner's gala in Round 3. If they don't, they will be fighting for top spot in the lower half of the league table.

But there were a lot of issues that stood in the team's way; reigning champions Bourne End SC, who beat us in the first round; Linslade Crusaders SC, looking to become this year's crowning champions, and Leighton Buzzard SC with their experienced team. 

With some easy mistakes that led to a few disqualifications and a few 'Too Fast' times, for a moment Bletchley were standing in last place. But as the second half of the gala proceeded, the club climbed up to finish 2nd!!! Destroying Leighton Buzzard SC for the first time, and finishing above reigning champions Bourne End!!!

This means we are currently standing 5th in the league table. Therefore, we made it through to the top six WInner's Gala in Round 3!!!

There are only 16 points between us sitting 5th, and 8th place. Will we hold this position?!

The final round will take place on Saturday 15th April 2023, at Tiddenfoot again. 4:30pm meet up, 5pm Warm up, 5:30pm First Race.

Coaches feedback: "Yet again, the team came in blazing and once again, proved the club is taking itself seriously. From looking at the swims, we can address everything in preparation for the final. Finishing 5th and in the top six overall has been my goal this year. Up from finishing 7th last year. I'm sure we can do it."
