Mission accomplished - 5th in the Chiltern League

Ryan Currell

What an amazong night for Bletchley & District Swimming Club. For those who are new to the club who might not know this, this is the first time Bletchley & District SC made it to the Chiltern League FINAL in over 10 years! Not bad considering it's new-ish Headcoach's second stint of the Chiltern League!

Facing 5 clubs who have always been at the top of the league for as long we can remember, you would have thought Bletchley had no chance. But that was not the case. With the team set up and ready, the team swim in the thick of it, applying pressure to all the other clubs. Sometimes winning comfortably, swimming alongside, making the rivals struggle. All teams achieved a lot of unofficial Personal Bests, many Too Fast Times (TF) than allowed in the league, but in all, some great swims.

For Headcoach, he has achieved what he said he wanted; to improve from last year. To come no worse than 5th, and to be in the Top 6 Final for the first time. Mission accomplished.

A huge congratulations to all clubs, and Linslade Crusaders on winning this year's League title. Well deserved.

As for next year, a lot needs to be done. We hope to be in the Final again and prove that once again, within 3 years from being a 'nothing club' to now becoming a top level competitive swimming club throughout the local region.

Well done.
