Updated information - Get Ready for Dash Night 1
Our First Dash Night of the Season
As set out in our 'Big Plan', we are going to run our first Dash Night of the season. The free event will take place from 6:45pm onwards on Tuesday 17th October at Bletchley Leisure Centre Pool.
Why a Dash Night?
The purpose of the Dash Night is to help swimmers monitor their progress, practice, and to help them prepare for future swimming competitions.
Swimmers who train on the following training sessions are invited to Bletchley Leisure Centre from 6:45pm on Tuesday 17th October:
- Those who swim at Leon Leisure Centre at 18:45-19:30 on a Tuesday.
- Those who swim at Leon Leisure Centre from 08:00-08:45 on a Saturday.
- Those who swim at Bletchley Leisure Centre from 19:00-20:00 on a Tuesday.
- Those who swim at Bletchley Leisure Centre from 20:00-21:30 on a Tuesday.
- Those who swim at Stantonbury Leisure Centre from 07:45-09:15 on a Saturday.
- Those who swim at Bletchley Leisure Centre from 16:00-17:00 on a Saturday.
What about my swimmer who has not been invited?
Swimmers who train at Leon Leisure Centre at either 18:00-18:45 on Tuesdays, or 7:45-8:30am on Saturday mornings, will stay and swim train at Leon at their usual swim training time (so no change). But they are not being forgotten because they will have their own longer, fun and a much suitable mini-Dash Night to themselves!
What if I have a child who swims at the 6pm Academy session, and another child who has been invited to the Dash Night at Bletchley Leisure Centre?
Not to worry. Once your 1st swimmer finishes their Academy session at 18:00-18:45 at Leon, you will have time to travel over to Bletchley Leisure Centre, before they race at 19:20. If you’re late and miss the warmup, not to worry. That’s why we start the racing at 19:20, to give you some more time to arrive.
What will be happening?
On the night itself, swimmers will come together, create 4 separate teams, and race against each other! Their times will be recorded, and their swimming will be judged by our officials. A bit like a swimming gala competition, but less formal and more fun! Parents can freely come, watch, and support us too!
Points will be awarded for each race.
Finishing 1st – 3 points
Finishing 2nd – 2 points
Finishing 3rd – 1 point
Finishing 4th – 0 points
The team with the most points at the end of the night wins!
