Chiltern League overall results after Round 1

Club Coach Ryan Currell looks back on a rollercoaster evening at Aqua Vale that saw his side twice make team changes, lead at the start, and then finish seven points behind second place!

Currell was proud of his swimmers for pushing hard to close in on Witney & District by 7 points but thought the Codebreakers might have won the round.

“As a team, we looked strong, too strong at times. I chose swimmers to swim in races at least 3 seconds behind the ‘No Faster Than (NFT) cut off. That way any improvements since December were considered. Well, we received 9 Too Fast times (TFs). For the Swimmers, that’s amazing. It means our training programme is performing better times than average. It just means I will have to make a few adjustments for Round 2”.

“We topped the table for the least number of Disqualifications. Only had 1 disqualification -Wow! Next time, can we get none?!

“The team really pulled together and I think the results speaks for itself”.

We might have missed 2nd place on the night, but overall, we are currently 4th in the Chiltern League – WOW!

Bring on Round 2 – Saturday 16th March 2024
