Updated Info - LBSC Open Meet
Dear swim families,
If your swimmer is due to swim in the Leighton Buzzard Open Meet on Saturday 11th May 2024. Please find further details as below and as attached.
If your swimmer can no longer participate please email [email protected] or let your coaches know ASAP.
Location: Bletchley Leisure Centre
Swimmers please arrive at the leisure centre at the time shown below. Please sign in with Team Manager(s).
IMPORTANT:
Please see the attached team sheet so that you know what sessions your swimmer has entered. Please also make sure your child knows what events they will be swimming in.
SATURDAY 11TH MAY 2024
SESSION 1 ARRIVE AT 12PM WARM UP 12.30PM START: 1.30PM
SESSION 2 ARRIVE AT TO BE CONFIRMED WARM UP TO BE CONFIRMED START: TO BE CONFIRMED
I will send out the times for session 2 as soon as I hear from Leighton Buzzard this week.
SPECTATORS:
Spectators must watch from the viewing gallery and are strictly prohibited from entering the changing area. Any person found to be contravening these conditions will be required to leave the competition and venue without refund. Please note the situation with spectators may be subject to change and are at the discretion of the Promoter. If spectators are permitted, seating will be limited and awarded on a first come first served basis. We reserve the right to use the spectator area to seat swimmers if it’s felt necessary.
All Day (Online programme) Adult: £10 OAP: £7
ii. Half Day (Online programme): £5 OAP: £4
iii. Children under 12: Free
Photography/Filming: No photography is permitted by Bletchley Leisure Centre. Note that any photography in the changing rooms is absolutely forbidden. For Swimmers who need video evidence for GSCE or A-level study must get prior written consent by the Promoter and all filming must be carried out by a Coach or Team Manager.
Refreshments: We are unsure whether the café will be open and will advise in line with guidance at the time. There are other establishments in the local vicinity.
Swimmers will need:
- Swimming costume that is within the Competitive Swimming Rule.
- Males: Shorts/trunks that must not cover the knee and below.
- Female: Customers cannot cover the shoulders, Arms, and from the knee and below.
- If you have religious reasons for specific swim wear that would breach the rules - please let us know.
- Flip flops or easy poolside shoes
- Swim hat
- Goggles (and spare if you have them)
- Team or plain black T-shirt to wear poolside and to wear whilst waiting for the swim
- A zippy or hoody to wear if they get cold easily between races.
- Two towels
- Plenty of non-fizzy fluids (1 litre minimum)
- Can bring food for energy, but no crisps/biscuits or anything that crumbs the floor and causes a mess please.
- £1 for a locker if you wish to use one
Swimmers are to let their Team Managers or coaches know where they are going, including for the toilet Swimmers are not to walk off over to see their parents as we don’t want you to miss your race!
When the event is over, swimmers celebrate and may leave their Team Area once Team Managers / Head Coach say so.
