Updated Information - Team Luton Long Course Open Meet
Dear Swim Families,
If your swimmer is due to swim in Team Luton Summer Long Course meet on Saturday 22nd and/or Sunday 23rd June 2024, please find further details by going to the Summer Long Course Meet 2024 website

Location: Inspire: Luton Sports Village, Hitchen Road, Luton, LU2 8DD
Car Parking We are been asked by the centre management that you do not arrive at the venue before 7.45am. The car park is unlikely to be open and cars queuing to get into will lead to congestion on neighbouring roads. The car park is managed by an external company Phone and Pay. You can pay by downloading the App and we recommend you do this at home before you leave. Parking is free for the first 4 hours and then it costs £1 per hour up to a maximum of £5 for the day. The location number is 4801. You are also able to pay at reception. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE TIME YOU ENTER THE CAR PARK.
Swimmers please arrive at the leisure centre at the time shown below. Please sign in with Bletchley Team Managers near the entrance to the changing rooms beyond the turnstiles.
IMPORTANT:
Please see the attached team sheet so that you know what sessions your swimmer has entered. Please also make sure your child knows what events they will be swimming in.

SESSION 1 ARRIVE AT 8AM WARM UP 8.25AM START: 9.15AM
SESSION 2 ARRIVE AT 12.15PM WARM UP 12.45PM START: 1:30PM
SESSION 3 ARRIVE AT 4PM WARM UP 4.25PM START: 5:15PM
Expected finish time 7.15PM.

SPECTATORS:
Entry is £5 per session or £10 per day. Payment will be contactless, but would suggest you bring a bit of cash too – just in case! Programmes will not be available on the day but can be downloaded from Team Luton's website: Summer Long Course Meet 2024 | Team Luton Swimming. Parents are not allowed in the changing rooms, but can spectate from upstairs.
AWARDS: Medals will be available from the medal table situated on the pool deck. Spot prizes can be collected straight after the race the prize is won.
Swim Shop: Rapid Swim Shop will be at our meet on Saturday and Sunday.
Refreshments:
Inspire Café The on-site café will be open. The café is run by a new outside caterer, and has a bigger choice of hot and cold food.
Swimmers will need:
- Swimming costume
- Flip flops or easy poolside shoes
- Swim hat
- Goggles (and spare if you have them)
- Team or plain black T-shirt to wear poolside and to wear whilst waiting for the swim
- A zippy or hoody to wear if they get cold easily between races.
- Two towels
- Plenty of non-fizzy fluids (1 litre minimum)
- Can bring food for energy, but no crisps/biscuits or anything that crumbs the floor and causes a mess please.
Swimmers are to let their Team Managers or coaches know where they are going, including for the toilet Swimmers are not to walk off over to see their parents as we don’t want you to miss your race!
When the event is over, swimmers celebrate and may leave their Team Area once Team Managers / Head Coach say so.
