Updated information for HSC Bryan Thompson Legacy Meet 5th and 6th October
Dear swim families,
Your swimmer is due to swim in the Harpenden Bryan Thompson Legacy Meet Open meet on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October 2024. Please find further details as below and as attached.

Location: Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre, Holywell Hill, St Albans, AL1 2DL
Car parking is free for 2 hours (there are machines in the centre where you enter number plates located by the changing rooms, in the lobby and upstairs foyer by the spa). After that the car park is chargeable. There is limited but cheaper parking in the train station opposite the centre.
Swimmers please arrive at the leisure centre at the time shown below. There will be no entry onto poolside or the changing areas before 12 noon on Saturday and before 8am on Sunday.

SESSION 1: Saturday afternoon
ARRIVE AT 11:45AM WARM UP 12:15PM RACING STARTS: 1PM
SESSION 2: Saturday evening
ARRIVE AT 4PM WARM UP 4:30PM RACING STARTS: 5:30PM
SESSION 3: Sunday morning
ARRIVE AT 8AM WARM UP 8:30PM RACING STARTS: 9:30PM
SESSION 4: Sunday afternoon
ARRIVE AT 12:30PM WARM UP 1PM RACING STARTS: 2PM
IMPORTANT:
Please see the attached accepted entries team sheet so that you know what sessions your swimmer has entered. Please also make sure your child knows what events they will be swimming in.
SPECTATORS:
Cash or card will be accepted for entrance into the gallery there will be a raffle. Stortford Swim Supplies will be located downstairs on Saturday in the lobby for new kit, costumes, jammers etc.
Parents/guardians will not be allowed onto poolside or through into the changing rooms.
Medals are awarded to the top 3 in each age group in each event and can be collected in the upstairs windowed gallery outside the studio by the swimmers. There will be spot prizes for swimmers.
If your child is swimming in more than one session, you will need to look after your child during the break between sessions
Swimmers will need:
- Swimming costume
- Flip flops or easy poolside shoes
- Swim hat
- Goggles (and spare if you have them)
- Team or plain black T-shirt to wear poolside and to wear whilst waiting for the swim
- A zippy or hoody to wear if they get cold easily between races.
- Two towels
- Plenty of non-fizzy fluids (1 litre minimum)
- Can bring food for energy, but no crisps/biscuits or anything that crumbs the floor and causes a mess please.
- NO BIG BAGS WILL BE ALLOWED ON POOLSIDE pls bring £1 (refundable) for lockers
Swimmers are to let their Team Managers or coaches know where they are going, including for the toilet Swimmers are not to walk off over to see their parents as we don’t want you to miss your race!
When the event is over, swimmers celebrate and may leave their Team Area once Team Managers / Head Coach say so.
