Bank Duty
Parental Responsibilities
Bank Duty is a Swim Ireland requirement; parents are required to sit poolside as the swimming squad train.
- It is for the protection of your children, and the coach.
- The parent on bank duty is expected to be aware of what is happening during the swimming session and to assist the coach if a child is sick or injured, always following the guidance of the coach.
- The bank duty rota is available on www.splashworldsharks.com and also posted on the Sharks noticeboard mid-month.
- All parents will be expected to be available for bank duty any night/morning their child swims.
- Parents should expect to do one bank duty per month. Those with multiple children in the club will be expected to carry out more bank duties per month. Usually one session per child.
- Parents on bank duty should be on time for the session and should remain on the premises until the last child has left.
- No outdoor shoes can be worn poolside.
- Swaps have to be arranged by parents themselves.
- For privacy reasons numbers of parents cannot be given out; therefore, parents should swap numbers between themselves.
