County Champs 1st Weekend
On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th February a large cohort of Teddington swimmers battled the elements to make it to the London Aquatics Centre where they competed in the first weekend of the Middlesex County Championships. Swimmers had to achieve a tough qualification time to compete so everyone taking part should be proud of themselves.
Every member of the team swam their hardest and there were some outstanding results. Medal winners came from various squads in the club, from Development right through to Nationals and there were four medals won in the 1500m freestyle alone.
Medal winners included Isaac Zawada who won gold in the 50m breaststroke and bronze in the 100m breaststroke, Billy Bainbridge who won a bronze in the 1500m freestyle and a silver in the 200m freestyle, Phoebe Chadwick who won silver in the 200m free and 200m back and bronze in the 1500m free and 100m back, Arthur GreenWalker who won bronze for 100m breaststroke and silver for 50m breaststroke, Jack Keers who won bronze in 50m fly, Rhea Poaros who won bronze in 100m back and silver in 200m back, Anabel Rogers who won silver in 1500m free and Ella Walton silver 1500m free.
There were also so many excellent PBs with many swimmers reaching the sprint event Final or a top 10 finish in one or more of their events. These include Piper Baker, Alex Barrett ,Tia Berkett, James Brady, Tommy Evans, Ben Farquhar Smith, Samuel Hall, Ava Holt, Liam Jeffers, Poppy Kreuzer, Zach Luttig, Delilah Paisley, Sarah Pereira, Thalia Poaros, Charles Rennie, Anna Russell, Sophie Sleap , Bella Tilzey, Holly Wiseman Lee, Evie Young and Eli Zawada.
