Lead Coach for P3

Tedding Swimming Club are recruiting for a lead coach for our Junior programme of County Level swimmers aged 10 – 13 years.

This role requires the coach to work closely with our Head of Development to bring through younger swimmers into the senior squads and work with them to gain their full potential at County level and prepare them for the next move into Regional Level competition. This position also requires a few hours work per week with our older, Club Squad.

This is a FT role, but we would consider candidates looking for a PT role

We would ideally like the candidate to start as soon as possible

Qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • Hold a minimum Swim England Swimming Coach/ ASA Level 2 coaching qualification, with previous experience of coaching age-group swimmers.
  • Be willing to work with other coaches and the Head Coach in the planning of the training programme to ensure the progression of all swimmers and their preparation for key competitions.
  • Have a strong technical focus but also be able to support the club ethos, motivate and encourage swimmers to their maximum potential.  
  • A knowledge of Team Unify would be desirable but not essential, so long as the candidate has IT skills and a willingness to learn & adopt the TU system.
  • Be willing to work closely with the rest of the coaching team, including assisting with the supervision and development of junior coaches and poolside helpers.
  • Be able to help to cover other sessions during swimming galas or other squad coach commitments
  • Be happy to communicate with parents over all matters connected with their swimmers.
  • Be prepared to work closely with the Committee and other Club volunteers to help ensure the efficient running of the Club and support its future development.
  • Full UK driving license and the ability to travel to our training sessions across the Borough of Richmond and surrounding area and competition venues across the UK, such as the Middlesex County Gala & Junior League fixtures
  • Teddington Swimming Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and must have attended the UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children course
