Academy
Stevenage Swimming Club Academy offers a programme, complementary to swimming lessons, as a starting point for children wanting to progress to club level swimming.
To join Stevenage Swimming Club Academy swimmers must be able to swim a minimum of 10m on their front and back.
The Academy is available for children aged 4–8 years and is structured to cover a mixture of abilities. Swimmers are assessed and evaluated regularly with the aim of achieving an award and progressing through the Academy and onto Club Swimming. All teachers are fully qualified to Swim England Teacher Level 2 (or Assistant Teacher Level 1 if supervised).
Our qualified teachers provide Swim England influenced levels of lessons, which consist of a weekly 30-minute session run from Stevenage Swimming Centre. Sessions run on:
- Friday evenings at 7:00pm, or
- Sunday evenings at 5:30, 6:30 & 7:00pm
Our Academy programme and swim squads are popular, and depending upon availability, you may be placed on a waiting list prior to joining. You may, therefore, be invited to trial but still need to wait until a space becomes available in the appropriate group for you.
