_{CoCSC Mini Meets}

_{Mini-Meets are an ideal introduction to competition aimed at swimmers in Academy, Pathway (Gold/Silver/Bronze) and Para squads who are new to, or with little competitive swimming experience.}_{For most swimming competitions, entry times are taken from the British Swimming Rankings which comes out of licences meets only. We run the mini-meets to give our swimmers a chance to gain race experience and get an official time at a licenced meet in a low pressure environment.}

_The_{Mini-Meets are level 4 licensed events held at Parkside Pool. There are usually three events with timed heats and awards for the top three in each age groups.}_{What this means is that your swimmer may win a heat but not be top of their age group so wouldn’t win an award. This can be hard to understand the first time, so parents may want to have a chat to their swimmer to explain. In addition to the age group prizes we also have a few spot prizes for some heats. So when the bell rings the person who wins that particular heat will get a spot prize (to be collected from the computer desk).}_But_{remember, they have done well, they have tried something different and started their swimming journey.}
