Thank you Lesley Harris for charity fundraising for Derby Excel

Derby Excel Committee

We are very grateful to Lesley Harris, who has nominated Derby Excel to receive a sizable charity donation from her employer Lloyds Bank. Lloyds and many other companies run match funding schemes, whereby the company will donate money to charities as a recognition of fundraising and volunteering by their staff.

Lesley has helped raise money for Derby Excel by running the raffle at our Open meet, and was able to claim £500 for Derby Excel as a result. Because she also volunteers with us, this was recognised with a further £500 donation from Lloyds – ie £1000 in total.

As well as this, staff can claim 'a day to make a difference'  and claim back a day's holiday for helping at a charity such as Derby Excel, as explained on this link:

https://www.lloydsbank.com/banking-with-us/in-your-community/our-foundations.html

Thank you Lesley, it’s a fantastic amount of money for the club.

Do you work for a company who also does this? We’ve managed to find a list of other companies who also do match funding, and aren’t sure how up to date it is, so please do check if your company is on the list, as you might also be able to eligible for a donation for you volunteering with us.

If you’d like to contact us to discuss, please email me, Babs Ingram [email protected]

Many thanks

Babs
