The Aquatics GB Swimming Championships 2025 took place at the Olympic Park (venue of the 2012 Olympics swimming events) 15-20th April. Derby Excel had 7 swimmers taking part. It’s always a great event, with the country’s best swimmers competing for selection to the World Championships in Singapore in the summer. Our swimmers raced against Olympic and World Champions, and there was a fantastic atmosphere at the event.

Georgie Pryor (27) made two ‘A’ finals. She was 7th in the 50m backstroke, swimming 29.52s in the heat, then 29.23 in the final, a new lifetime best. Georgie raced the 50m butterfly final, posting 27.22s in the heat, then 27.32s for 8th place in the final. She also competed in the 100m freestyle, finishing in 54th place.

Anna Tyers (17) swam in 4 events. She qualified for the junior 50m backstroke final, finishing in 5th place in 29.73s (7th junior). Anna was 12th junior in 100m backstroke, 14th Junior in 50m freestyle and 16th junior in 200m freestyle, to round off an excellent set of results.
