Congratulations to our Nationals Qualifiers

Huge congratulations to all our qualifiers, who will be swimming at British and/or English Nationals at the end of the season. Derby Excel hosted level 1 meets at the first and last weekends of the qualifying window, the first being a hectic event at Ponds Forge in March, and the second at Moorways last weekend. 

Qualifying for British Nationals are 12 swimmers: 

Connie Bunhejee, Anna Tyers, Imogen Clark, Georgie Pryor, Marija Romanovskaja, Miley Aram, Eden Saint, Jaden Leo, Jacob Pemberton, Logan Wiggins, Laurel Roberts-Burrell and George Whittle. 

The following 21 swimmers have qualfiied for English Nationals the following week: 

Miley Aram, Finlay Bird, Connie Bunhejee, James Chennells, Toby and Zachary Drayson, Connor Furnish, Charlotte Hall, Jacob Hamblen, Dylan Jamieson, Isla Johnson, Jaden Leo, Roman Levchenko, Ada Moorhouse, Jacob Pemberton, Laural Roberts-Burrell, Marija Romanovskaja, Eden Saint, Abbie Tunnicliffe, Cole Webster and Logan Wiggins. 

We are so proud of you all and look forward to seeing you at Nationals. 

We know we had some swimmers who very narrowly missed out - don't forget you have still done us and yourselves proud. The most important thing is to enjoy your swimming, and understand what a wonderful achievement it is to be able to go toe-to-toe with the best swimmers in the country!

The swimming journey has its ups and downs, but the skills you are learning during your time at Derby Excel will stay with you for the rest of your life, and hopefully you'll enjoy being a swimmer forever!
