Regionals Championships Report
East Midlands Regional Long Course Championships were held between 26th April and 5th May 2025 at Moorways in Derby and Corby, Leicestershire.
We had 47 qualifiers for this event, which saw swimmers from all over the E Midlands compete against each other in a heat/final format.

There were too many excellent results to mention them all, but special mention to:
Eden Saint (14) had a clean sweep of the breaststroke events, winning GOLD in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke, with silver in 200m freestyle. These swims put Eden in 4th place in the British rankings for the 50m breaststroke, and in 5th for the 100m. Many congratulations Eden.
Connie Bunhejee (14) GOLD in 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly – Connie’s time of 2:34.85 was nearly 2 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Connie is now ranked 3rd in the British rankings for the 50m, and 5th in 100m, very well done to you!
Jacob Pemberton (16) GOLD in 400m individual medley, silver in 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley, bronze in 200m backstroke and 50m backstroke
Ada Moorhouse (13) GOLD in 200m breaststroke, taking the win by just 0.08 seconds!, silver in 100m breaststroke, bronze in 50m breaststroke
Jacob Hamblen (20) GOLD in 50m breaststroke
Miley Aram (16) GOLD in 50m and 100m butterfly, and in 100m freestyle
Isla Johnson (14) joint GOLD in 50m freestyle with 28.11 seconds
Connor Furnish (12) (who swam for Long Eaton and trains with Derby Excel part time) GOLD in 50m freestyle and 200m freestyle, and silver in 50m butterfly, 200m individual medley, 200m butterfly and 50m backstroke, bronze in 100m backstroke
Toby Drayson (14) (who swam for Belper Marlin) silver in 50m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke and 200m freestyle
Katherine Peixuan Liu (12) (who swam for Derby Phoenix) silver in 50m and 100m breaststroke
Jaden Leo (16) silver in 100m breaststroke, bronze in 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly
Finlay Bird (15) silver in 1500m freestyle
Laurel Roberts-Burrell (18) bronze in 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke
Amelia Sheil (13) bronze in 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke
Olivia Male (14) bronze in 800m freestyle
Marija Romanovskaja (19) bronze in 50m freestyle
Alexander Harrand (20) bronze in 200m freestyle
Charlotte Hall (23) bronze in 50m backstroke
Iwo Bandura (14) (who swam for Derby Phoenix) bronze in 100m backstroke
Ava Carter (13) (who swam for Belper Marlin) bronze in 50m backstroke
There was also success for our relay teams:
GOLD for our female 17/o 400m medley relay team of Anna Tyers, Imogen Clark Eleanor (Daisy) Bevan and Marija Romanovskaja, with a winning margin of over 3 seconds.
Bronze for our male 14/16yo 400m freestyle relay team of Eden Saint, Zach Drayson, Jaden Leo and Evan Johnson
Bronze for our male 800m freestyle relay team of Zach Drayson, Eden Saint, Isaac Ebanks and Jacob Pemberton
Bronze for our female 800m freestyle relay team of Anna Tyers, Marija Romanovskaja, Yanet Fung and Abbie Tunnicliffe.
