Club Championships 2025

The Derby Excel Club Championships took place on Saturday 14th June at Moorways - and what a fantastic event it was. We had nearly 100 competitors aged from 8 years up to Masters swimmers, racing from 25m events to 200m freestyle over a frenetic few hours! 

Swimmers were divided into teams - red, blue, yellow and green - so were racing for their team as well as themselves. Each team were coached by one of our coaching team - Becky and Oli on Red team, John on Yellow team, Ed Spink on Green team, David on Blue. The last team event was a cannon, with 10 swimmers (5 male, 5 female) from each age group racing. 

This was followed by Skins, where the top swimmers from the 200m individual medley raced each other. Many congratulations to the winners, Anna Tyers and Roman Levchenko, both winning £30! 

The results will be collated and the top 6 swimmers from each age group will be given awards at our Presentation Night on Saturday 6th September. There will also be trophies for the winners of the junior and senior 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley. 

Thank you as always to the huge team of volunteers and helpers who helped organise and deliver these Club Championships. We had 20 officials there on the day, meaning the event could be licenced, and all the times are on rankings:
