Presentation Night 2025

Derby Excel's annual Presentation Night took place at Rolls Royce Pavillion last night, and was a fantastic event celebrating the achievements of our swimmers last season. 

Over 300 people attended, and there was a brilliant atmosphere and the venue looked great, decorated with Derby Excel flags. 

Congratulations to all the swimmers who won trophies, plaques and medals. We hope this inspires you for the new season ahead.

Well done to Green team coached by Ed Spink, who won the team event from the Club Championships, scoring 678 points. Second were Blue (coached by David Pratt) with 561 points, then Red (coached by Oli Purgavie and Becky Mills) with 454 points and Yellow (coached by John Adye) narrowly behind on 446 points. 

Prior to the event, we wanted to encourage alumni to attend - ie members of Derby Excel, City of Derby and Derventio Excel - to reconnect with the swim family. It was fantastic to see 3 previous coaches of Derventio there - Mark Rose, Andi Manley and Jamie Main. 

It was a special evening as well because we celebrated the 80th birthdays of Keith and Ralph, who have both been involved in swimming for over 40 years.

Thank you to everyone who helped make last night such a great event. Thanks to Butlers Engraving for engraving all the trophies, and Carolyn Howe and Babs for collating them all. 

For anyone who couldn't be there to collect their awards, they will be at Moorways so you can collect from there or at the Back to the Blocks meet which is in a fortnight.
