As the nights start to get longer and there is a chill in the air on the way to morning training, we are getting ever closer to that wonderful time of year…no, not the start of the long course season, but CHRISTMAS!!!
We are planning a SOCIAL that will be fun, whatever the weather, and involves food, what more could a swimmer ask for?!
What?
2 games of laser tag…
Plus a hot food buffet and drinks in the party area. The delicious buffet includes pizza, fries, chicken bites, squash and water. (Please mention any dietary requirements or allergies when booking).
How much?
A complete bargain at £15.25 per swimmer which includes all of the above!
Once you complete your details in the new Google form, the money will disappear as if by magic from your account.
When?
Between 3pm to 5.30pm on Sunday 21st December. Exact times will be confirmed closer to the time once we have firm numbers.
Training may be cancelled so swimmers can attend the social (thanks John!)
Where?
Megazone (Willow Sports Centre, 1 Willow Row, Derby, DE1 3NZ)
Parking is limited. Please use nearby multi-storey car parks or bus/walk/swim.
Who?
The social is open to all swimmers at Derby Excel. Groups will be rotated into the arena to allow for numbers. Coaches are also very welcome! I’m sure the swimmers won’t seek you out to shoot at…
What about parents?
Willows sports centre is in the centre of Derby, so you can take the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping, get a festive tipple nearby or rest up at the on site bar!
We will have a couple of parent volunteers stay at the centre to ensure things run smoothly but you are welcome to stay if you wish.
What next?
Please complete the new Google form (one for each swimmer).
Deadline: 1st November 2025
We will send reminders but once the deadline is passed the details will be sent to megazone for definite numbers, so sign up asap!
