Swim England National Winter Championships
Well done to all our 15 swimmers who qualified for Swim England’s Nationals Winter Championships which were held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield last week, Thursday to Sunday.
Georgie Pryor (27) came away with bronze medals in the 100m backstroke (in a time of 58.79s), and in 100m butterfly in 58.02s. She was 4th in the 100m freestyle B final with 54.62s, and was also 4th in 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly. Congratulations G!
Anna Tyers (17) also had an outstanding meet. She was 3rd in the junior 100m backstroke in 1:01.16, just 0.02s ahead of the 4th placed swimmer. She was 5th in the female junior 100m freestyle final, in a personal best time of 55.94s, and 7th in 200m freestyle.
Roman Levchenko (17) was 4th in the junior 100m individual medley with 57.04s, and 7th in 200m individual medley.
Lily Freeman (18) was 8th in the B final of the 400m individual medley.
Special mention also to Connie Bunhejee who was the fastest 14 year old at the meet in 50m and 100m butterfly

Thank you to coach John Adye, attending his last meet as Director of Swimming before he steps down in January. Our very own Claire Spink was also there, working for Swim England as a volunteer helper at the medal ceremonies and the finals.
