Swimmers Perform Well at Winter Regionals
This weekend saw the Winter Regional SC Championships take place at Millfield, with Ella & Jas D'Cunha both qualifying and representing the club.
Ella, competing at her first Winter Regionals, broke the 36 second mark for the first time in the 50brst on the Saturday with a great swim and followed it up with another good one on Sunday in the 100brst, posting her second fastest ever time in the event.
Jas continued her strong start to the season, swimming to a pb in the 50brst, before immediately following it up with a huge pb in the 100IM. She later swam in the A Group final and posted a time fast enough to see her claim the Junior (15/u) 50brst Championship title. Both of her swims were good enough to achieve a Qualifying Time for her first ever Winter National Championships this December.
On Day 2, she found the 100brst more tough going, swimming just off her pb, but picked herself up and responded in the best way possible, gaining a pb of nearly 3secs in the 200brst, which she only achieved a fortnight ago. Well done to both girls!
It's been a busy, but very strong start to the season for many of our swimmers throughout the club and we are looking forward to seeing what the last couple of galas brings for us, particularly at our own Christmas Dasher in 4 weeks time!
