Introduction
Here at the Dinnaton Swimming Club, we believe in fostering a supportive environment where swimmers of all ages and abilities can achieve their goals, make friends and enjoy the water.
Based at McCaulay’s Health Club in Ivybridge, Dinnaton Swimming Club has grown over the past 40 years from a small teaching group to now being one of the top competitive swimming clubs in the Southwest with over 250 swimming members aged between 3 to well over 50!
As a club we remain committed to providing a high quality and comprehensive “Learn to Swim” (LTS) program, which invites young swimmers from the age of 3, through the provision of specialised training with help from our very own squad swimmers.
The LTS Teachers start from the age of 14, in accordance with Swim England guidance, and work their way up from LTS Poolside Helper to a qualified Level 2 Swim Teacher status - which is a nationally recognised swimming qualification - all funded by the club.
We believe this is a great way for the more experienced swimmers to give something back to our younger members, whilst under the watchful eyes of the qualified Coaches.
The pleasing result of this friendly approach sees our swimmers compete successfully at County, Regional and National competitions.
In addition to learning to swim, breaking ‘pb’s and making friends, we are keen to encourage a supportive Team environment and achieve this via our many social events - ranging from days out at Splash Down & Adrenaline Quary - to our fun Xmas and Awards Presentation parties.
Dinnaton's Coaches consist of Assistant Head Coach Simone Cater who also runs the Learn To Swim programme as well as the Squads & Jorja Cater Stevens our Junior Coach.

Safeguarding children, young people and adults is a collective responsibility. Wavepower is Swim England’s safeguarding policy and procedures document. Its aim is to ensure everyone is able to enjoy our sports and aquatic activity in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment in line with current legislation, regulations and guidance.
All Swim England affiliated clubs and organisations must adopt Wavepower and the current version can be downloaded below.
If you have any concerns about your own swimmer/s, or any swim member of the club, please contact the Welfare Officer. All contact will be treated in the strictest confidence.
