DEVON COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026

We’ve had a great Devon County Championships 2026! The results and individual achievements are below:-

FIRST WEEKEND RESULTS

100 IM on Saturday 10th saw six of our swimmers race.

Ollie came away 3rd fastest in his age group and a Bronze medal

Rosie is 18th in her age group

Ava is 28th in her age group

Lilly is 6th in her age group

Megan is 16th in her age group

Laila is 6th in her age group.

Following on from the IM we had the Interclub gala where we had a team of mixed ages racing 9 other teams, from our youngest Micah who’d turn 9 three days earlier up to our Masters swimmers. Well done to all of them.

Sunday 11th saw Esme and Laila in the 100 breaststroke.

Esme is now 20th in her age group

Laila is 10th and was 2nd reserve for the final.

Otis was up next in his first ever long course swim in 50 butterfly, with 19th in his age group.

Then Ollie was back in the pool with 50 butterfly. Making a final and coming out with another bronze medal

SECOND WEEKEND RESULTS

It was a long but very rewarding weekend with many of our swimmers racing their hearts out to gain places in finals! Over the 2 days saw

Bethany swam 200 fc and bk . Making finals in both.

Megan swam 100 bk, 50 bk, 100 fly making the final

Cristian swam 100 fc making the final.

Oscar swam 100 fc

Laila swam 50 bk, 200 fc and 100 fly making finals in all. Unfortunately she sustained an injury to the shoulder in the 100 fly final, she still finished the race.

Rosie swam 50 bk making the final, and 100 fc.

Ava swam 50 brs

Vincent swam 200 brs …this young man had his goggles halfway on his eyelids from the dive and still completed the race with some amazing encouragement from his teammates who walked along to cheer him on!! He was back in the afternoon for the 50 brs .

Esme swam 50 bk, 200 fc, 400 fc, 100 fc and 50 brs

Lilly swam 100 fc making the final and 50 brs

Then there’s Ollie….this young man is having an absolutely amazing Devon County Championships!

He is Devon County Champion for 100 fc and what a race that was!!

100 bk next gaining a silver (that’s the full set over the two weekends with more to come)

Then it was 50 brs, making the final too.

THIRD WEEKEND RESULTS

The end of January and Beginning of February saw the curtains close on this year’s Devon County Championships. We had 8 swimmers over the last two days with PB’s and finals.

Megan 50 butterfly, making the Final and gaining a regional time, 50 freestyle, with a great swim.

Esme 50 butterfly, gaining a PB 50 freestyle, gaining a PB

Lilly 50 butterfly, gaining a PB and 1st reserve for the final. 50 freestyle, making the final and racing a PB to get a Bronze medal

Cristian 50 backstroke, making the final and a PB in that. 50 freestyle, making the final and PB too.

Ollie 50 backstroke, making the final breaking a long desired sub 40! On top of which he came away with a solid 2nd and silver medal 50 freestyle, making the final and PB

Across the 3 weekends all our swimmers have shown their resilience and determination. They swam their hearts out and myself and Jorja and everyone involved with the club are extremely proud of all of them. Onwards and upwards, I’m really excited to see where the rest of the season takes them!

Well done to Beth for becoming an official, official!
