March Club Update
Since the update in February there have been positive stories in the news about the impact of the vacine programme and the government has set out it's roadmap for lifiting restrictions. With schools opening again from Monday starting the process of the gradual lifting of restrictions, it seems a good time to update you all again on where the club is.
As you will be aware the government has announced that leiure centres and organised indoor activity for under 18's, will hopefully resume from 12th April. While this date is not certain until 1 week beforehand, the club is planning with this date in mind. We will be talking to our pool operators in the coming weeks to confirm a potential date for our return but we are currently aiming for Friday 16th April. With this in mind we have brought the next committee meeting forward a week from the 31st of March to 24th March, to ensure we are well prepared for a possible resumption on the 16th April. While this meeting will focus mostly on ensuring we are ready for a resumption, it will also be used to discuss our plans for the rest of 2021.
With our commitment to contiual improving the club a constant throughout the tough last 12 months, I'm happy to announce another positive development. We have created an online/contact free registration system for new members. This will reduce the time our coaching team spend chasing up documents and information from new swimmers, allowing them to spend more time focusing on coaching.
We will put out another update after the meeting that will set out our plans ahead of the potential resumption of training and hopefully we will be able to give some other exciting news on our future plans along with that update.
