Restart success
It's now 5 weeks since our recent (and hopefully last) restart and it's been a really positive 5 weeks. It's been great to see our swimmers back in the water again and there is a real buzz about training sessions again which is great to see.
There are number of new faces around, with Tammy now working with us on a permanent basis helping out with the coaching of our senior group and new swimmers across the groups. In fact we've picked up so many new swimmers we now have more swimmers than ever and are so close to capacity, we are having to think about starting a waiting list.
For those of you who have been with us since before the initial lockdown, you'll know this is a long way from the position we were faced with last September. We're delighted to say that with the influx of new swimmers, combined with generosity from members and a successful fundraising campaign, our financial position has significantly improved. All this means we are now moveinng away from planning based around securing the club’s future and towards planning for it's future development and growth.
All this is testament to the hard work of our coaches, committee members and volunteers over a difficult last 14 months. So on behalf of myself, Michelle and Gerard let me say a huge thank you to those mentioned above. We'd also like to say thank you to all our fantastic members and parents who keep turning up even when faced with all the changes that have come with operating in a socially distanced world.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and please keep your eye on the website as we should have more positive news to share over the next couple of weeks.
