Club structure update

Mitcham Marlins Chair

Over the past 12 months, the club has doubled in size, in terms of swimmer numbers, the number of people working / volunteering with the club and the amount of pool time we have.  This has led to a significant increase in the amount of time it takes to keep everything moving and still provide the level of service both on the coaching and admin side of the club we aim for.  This was noted during the recent review we conducted into the progress made against the club's development plan.

The new club structure is our response to that.  By providing clarity around who is responsible for the various aspects of the club for parents, swimmers and volunteers and adding more support on the admin side; we hope to make it easier to divide the workload up and make clear who to contact if you have an issue.  The overall aim, is to continue offering the level of service we do at the moment while also improving what we offer as a club.

The admin/business side of the club is the responsibility of myself as Chair, supported by the other committee members and club officers.  The training and competition side is the responsibility of Tamami our Head Coach, supported by the rest of the coaching team.  We discussed this new structure during the club meeting ealier but if you weren’t there, the minutes (which will be sent to all members) will provide a bit more detail about it.

We do have a couple of club officer roles and 5 new parent representative roles which we will be looking to fill in the coming months and we will be sending out more information around these in the next week or two.

If you have any questions around the new structure, or would like to know more about the vacant club officer roles or the new parent representative roles, please let me know.
