IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING MOBILE PHONE USAGE & SWIMMER CONDUCT
Please read an important message from our Club President, Debbie Lawson:
📱 As you know MASC has a policy on the Acceptable Use of Mobile Phones which explains that the use of mobile phones is not acceptable in changing rooms, toilets or shower areas at any time. Unfortunately due to a number of swimmers repeatedly using mobile phones during land training sessions and causing significant disruption, we have taken the decision to have a complete ban on mobile phones being out during all training sessions. We ask that all parents/Carers explain this to their swimmers and ensure there is a complete understanding that all devices must be left in lockers/bags or with our coaching team.
Here is a reminder of where you can find our Acceptable Use of Mobile Phone policy: https://uk.teamunify.com/team/musselburghasc/page/club-governance/our-policies-and-procedure
📄 I have also received a number of reports from our coaching team that some swimmers have been refusing to follow their instructions, in relation to requests to put phones away during sessions as well as following instructions and safety advice. A number of coaches have reported that the swimmers' responses to such requests have been particularly hostile. This type of behaviour goes against MASC values and principles and I would encourage you all to read through the MASC codes of conduct with your swimmers and ensure they fully understand what we expect from each of them.

I would ask that these messages are shared with swimmers as a matter of urgency. Breaches of the Athletes' Code of Conduct or inappropriate use of mobile phones will be dealt with in accordance with the clubs' disciplinary procedures.
I appreciate your help in ensuring MASC is a safe and happy place for everyone.
Kind regards,
Debbie Lawson
MASC President
