MASC awarded AquaMark status by Scottish Swimming
Musselburgh Amateur Swimming Club has been awarded the prestigious AquaMark status by the national swimming body.
AquaMark is a Scottish Swimming initiative which aims to grow the sport through recognised grassroot swimming clubs which are strong, sustainable, and inclusive.
In order to meet the criteria, clubs must adhere to equality standards, engage with the local community, and provide safe, well-governed and friendly environments for their members.
The accreditation is recognition for the hard work of the coaches, committees and volunteers who put in enormous effort behind the scenes to provide first class opportunities for their athletes and support the East Lothian Pathway.
Scottish Swimming Regional Swimming Development Manager, Andy Maguire, made the trip to present MASC with their certificate:
“Scottish Swimming’s club accreditation supports clubs to be safe, sustainable, and forward thinking through good governance and member engagement. Congratulations to all involved at Musselburgh ASC for achieving Aquamark 1 and ensuring the club have everything in place to make a successful environment for its members and to provide their swimmers with a safe place to enjoy their sport and achieve their potential. I look forward to working with the club in supporting their swimmers in the future.”
Clare Brown, Musselburgh Club President said “We are delighted to have successfully achieved AquaMark status. Our club aim to provide an inclusive and professional swimming environment tailored to the needs of each athlete on their individual swimming journey. This accreditation is recognition of the hard work that our volunteers and coaches contribute on a daily basis to meet these standards.”
