Our Coaches’ Motto is ‘Quality not Quantity’

Competitive swimming is governed by Swim England. PSC abides by the rules and regulations of Swim England. Swim England technical committee put together the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) which is a document that helps parents understand the principles behind the training and competition of young children and adolescents. It is also used as a guide (for coaches) as to the most appropriate types of training and competition for each swimmer.

Long term athlete development is about achieving the correct training, competition and recovery throughout a young athletes’ career – particularly in relation to the important growth and development years of young people. Our Coaches give considerable thought to physiological, psychological and emotional development of our young swimmers. Our training programme follow the LTAD guidelines.
