MIDDLESEX COUNTY AMATEUR SWIMMING ASSOCIATION RECORDS

Claim Criteria and Process

  1. Records shall be recognised if made by eligible swimmers who are members of clubs affiliated to the Association and with whom the swimmer holds the longest unbroken membership and whose times are published on British Rankings
  2. The distances recognised by the Association as records for men and ladies, boys and girls shall be:

      Freestyle: 50m. 100m. 200m. 400m. 800m. and 1500m.

      Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly stroke: 50m. 100m and 200m.

      Individual Medley: 100m, 200m and 400m.

      4x100m Medley & Freestyle relays - men and ladies

      4x50m Medley & Freestyle relays - boys & girls

      4x200m Freestyle relays - men & ladies (Long Course only)

  1. Separate Records will be recognised for Short Course (25m) and Long Course (50m) events
  2. A junior record (boys and girls) will be recognised only if it is made by a swimmer who is under sixteen years of age on the day of the swim.
  3. Certificates will be awarded to swimmers setting new Association Records.
  4. All records will be published on the County web-site (www.middlesexswimming.com) and will be updated regularly.

 

Claim Process

  1. All records must be claimed.
  2. MCASA will not automatically recognise records including those achieved at a Middlesex event.
  3. Claimants must fully complete the online form to lodge an official claim. Claims received via any other communication medium will not be considered.

  1. Upon the submission of a claim, MCASA shall assess the claim against all the criteria published in this document.
  2. Where the claim does not satisfy one or more of the criteria, the claim shall be declined, and the Claimant will be contacted by email explaining the reason. The Claimant may resubmit a claim should the initial claim have been declined for data entry error/oversight.
  3. Where the claim is assessed as being valid, the claim shall be approved.
  4. The records published online in the Middlesex County website -  shall be updated accordingly. Best efforts will be applied to achieve this update swiftly. MCASA expect that the minimum update cadence shall be monthly.
  5. MCASA give notice that announcement of the achievement of a record may be published on the approved social platforms used by the County and elsewhere in the Middlesex County webpage (other than the records page). A claimant approves the use of their name, their club and their achievement for such postings when submitting a claim.
  6. Records approved/accepted prior to the effective date of this document shall not be reassessed retrospectively against the criteria defined in this document.
  7. Disputes and/or appeals may be directed to the current Chair of the Swimming Committee ([email protected]) but only once the full Claim Process (detailed above) has been completed. Record claims sent directly to this email address will be disregarded.
