Megan to head to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games!

We are delighted to announce that Repton swimmer Megan Neave has been selected to compete for Paralympics GB at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

This is Repton’s third international selection of the Summer, following the selection of Eva Okaro for Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and Izabella Okaro for Great Britain Juniors at the European Junior Championships in Lithuania.

21-year-old Megan joined Repton Swimming shortly after our inception in late 2019 and has been with the club since. Having been part of GB Para-Swimming’s Podium Potential programme in recent years, it is a real delight to see Megan qualify for her first Paralympic Games by virtue of an excellent performance in the 100m Backstroke in London at the Aquatics GB Championships held in April.

Megan was in a very competitive multi-classification event in the Aquatics GB Championships and has been selected to swim in her S14 classification. In a strong field, it is testament to Megan's continued dedication for swimming that she was able to shine through and go under the nomination time for the third time in her swimming career. Megan took her first Gold in the World Para-Series in Aberdeen, so was certainly coming into form at the right time ahead of the Championships and Olympic Trials. Subsequently, Megan won a Silver Medal in the European event in Madeira as she continues to build towards Paris in the Summer.

Megan’s Coach and Repton’s Assistant Performance Coach, Marcus Birmingham, congratulated Megan, saying: “We are really proud of the resilience and perseverance that Megan has shown over the past couple of years to achieve Paralympic selection in an increasingly strong field. As a club, we are delighted for Megan and proud of the environment that has been developed to support each individual athlete to achieve their goals.”
