Summer Summary!
The end of the 2023-2024 season was nothing but extraordinary for our club, with swimmers racing in Paris, Lithuania and Sheffield throughout July and August.
Eva Okaro represented Team GB at the Olympic Games in Paris and stepped up maturely at her first senior international meet where she swam 2 lifetime relay splits to help the Women's 4x100m Freestyle Team finish 7th in the Olympic Final. A huge well done to Eva from everyone at Repton!
Early on in the summer, we saw Izabella Okaro, and new Repton member Jacob Mills, represent GB at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Lithuania where Jacob swam PB's in the 50, 100, and 200m Freestyle Events, and Izzy winning a Gold Medal as part of the 4x100m Freestyle Relay Team.
At the end of July, Repton had 32 swimmers travel to Sheffield to compete at the Aquatics GB Summer National Championships. Here our swimmers stepped up to record the club's best results ever by winning 12x Gold Medals, 9x Silver Medals, 6x Bronze Medals and making 70x Finals - finishing 5th in the overall Medals Table.
There were outstanding swims from Lydia Cordle (4x Gold, 1x Silver, 1x Bronze), Austyn Manley (3x Gold, 2x Silver, 1x Bronze), Mabli Collyer (3x Gold, 1x Silver, 1x Bronze), Fenella Wooddisse (3x Gold, 1x Bronze), Hannah Capron (1x Gold, 2x Silver, 1x Bronze) and Annabel Crees (1x Gold, 1x Silver). There were also medal winning performances from Holly Robinson, Jess Smelt, Holly Marshall, Harry Milne, and new Repton members Jacob Mills and Will Tonks).
Cameron Jamieson, Martin Iankov, Mabel Walker, Harriet Oxley, Maddie Emment, Isabella Parsons-Loades, Dominik Bartoletti, Erin Gent, Laurie Devine, Izzy Okaro, Finn Cordle, Elodie Pearcey and Olivia McCall all made finals and/or finished in the Top-10 nationally.
The following week saw the Swim England Summer Open Meet take place in Sheffield where 27 Repton swimmers competed over the 6-day meet. There were Gold Medals for Maddie Emment (200m Free), Finn Cordle (100m Back) and Georgie Rennals (50m Free), plus Silver Medals for Owen Johnson (MC 100m Back & MC 400m Free), Connie Palmer (50m Free) and Ellie Broughton (400m IM), and a Bronze Medal for Elodie Pearcey (200m Free). This was backed up by Miles Willetts, Jude Denning, Isabella Parsons-Loades, Dominik Bartoletti, Joe Lauda, Joe Helps, and Tom Townsend making the finals of their respoective events.
Idena Grimes represented the club at the Swim Wales Summer Meet and achieved multiple finals and PBs.

As the new season starts for many, last season is not quite over for Megan Neave who is now is Paris ahead of the Paralympics where she will be representing Paralympics GB in the 100m Backstroke on 6th September. Good luck, Megan!
