2024-25 completed!

Repton Swimming brought the 2024-25 season to a close as they took a seasoned team of 36 swimmers to the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships last month – hosted at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.

 

There was some exceptional results throughout the week – with many personal bests to be celebrated. On top of this, there were:

  • 3 Golds: (Charles Simpson, Hannah Capron, Dominik Bartoletti)
  • 5 Silvers: (Will Tonks x3, Hannah Capron, Bella Parsons-Loades)
  • 3 Bronzes: (Zach Dale x2, Jake Battle)
  • 43 finals

 

A further 25 Repton Swimmers competed at the Swim England Summer Meet (with Mabli Collyer competing at the Welsh Summer Meet, and Isabelle Cameron at the Scottish Summer Meet).

Swimmers at the English Summer Meet collected:

  • 6 Golds (Owen Johnson x3, Maya Almohammed x3)
  • 7 Silvers (Ewan Cox x2, Harvey Allsopp, Olivia Hann, Leo Pollock, Owen Johnson x2)
  • 2 Bronzes (Ben Barnes, Ewan Cox)
  • 34 Finals

We wish farewell to the following swimmers, who swam their last races for Repton Swimming this summer. We are very glad to hear all these swimmers will continue to swim in their next chapter.

  • Maddie Emment, Women’s Captain 2024/2025, University in the United States.
  • Izzy Okaro, European Junior Champion.
  • Eva Okaro, Olympic Finalist
  • Jess Smelt, World Trials Finalist.
  • Connie Palmer, English Summer Medallist.
  • Olivia Hann, University in the United States, English Nationals medallist.
  • Nathan Morgan, English Summer Finalist.
  • Hannah Hodgkiss, World Trials Qualifier.
  • Cameron Jamieson, World Trials Qualifier
  • Finn Cordle, World Trials Qualifier
  • Georgie Rennals, World Trials Qualifier, English Nationals medallist

Notably, Georgie, Finn, Hannah, Nathan and Olivia have been part of our program since 2020 and in some cases since shortly after our inception in 2019. They have been an instrumental part of Repton Swimming’s development.

 

In addition, to the domestic competitions, 7 swimmers were on internationsl duty this Summer, with their results below.

 

World Championships - Singapore 

  • Eva Okaro and Jacob Mills represented GB.
  • Eva made the 50FR semi-final, finishing 11th and also raced the 100FR and mixed free relay 
  • Jacob competed in the final of the Men's 4x100m Free Relay where GB finished 4th and broke the British record, the 50FR, 100FR and mixed free relay.

 

European Junior Swimming Championships - Slovakia 

  • Harry Milne and Hannah Capron selected to represent GB Juniors
  • Hannah raced in the 50FR finishing 9th and the Mixed 4x100 Free Relay, winning a silver medal.
  • Harry competed in the 50m, 100m, 200m Freestyle events and multiple relays 
  • Harry came home with 1x Gold (Men's Medley Relay), 1x Silver (Mixed Free Relay), and 1x Bronze (Men's Free Relay) Medal. 

 

European Youth Olympics Festival - Macedonia 

  • Austyn Manley and Lydia Cordle representing Team GB at this multi-sport games
  • Lydia raced in 7 events (100FL, 200FL, 200IM, and all 4 relays) - winning 3 medals (Silver in the 100FL and Mixed Medley Relay, plus Bronze in the Mixed Free Relay)
  • Austyn competed in 6 events (200BK, 200IM, 400IM and 3 relays) - winning 2x Gold Medals (200BK & 200IM), 1x Silver Medal (Men's Free Relay), 2x Bronze Medals (Men's Medley Relay and Mixed Free Relay). 

 

World Junior Championships - Romania 

  • Jacob Mills and Harry Milne will travel to Romania with GB Juniors to compete in the World Junior Swimming Championships from 19th to 24th August.
