British & Irish Summer Championships

Ian Pollock

After a three year gap, this week the British Summer Championships returns and will be held in Sheffield's Ponds Forge International Centre. This event sees the top young swimmers in the country battle it out for the medals over 7 days. As well as a number of individual swimmers, we also have a high number of relay teams that will bid to establish Repton amongst Britain's top 24 clubs in both the medley and freestyle events.

The event kicks off with the 4x200m relays on Friday before the indivudual events get underway for our swimmers on Saturday.

In addition to those in Sheffield, Dan Kennedy is out in Ireland competing at the Irish Summer Nationals, having already finished as Ireland's top boy in the 18 year old 400m Individual Medley in a fantastic personal best time of 4.35.38, plus a personal best time in the 200m Freestyle too. Dan will be heading to Sheffield next to join the Repton relay teams!

This event will also be followed by the Swim England National Summer Meet, also in Sheffield, starting on 5th August, and this weekend 23rd/24th July sees a number of swimmers racing at the East Midlands Festival of Swimming, just up the road in Derby, which will be a great way to end the season.

Do keep an eye on our @ReptonSwim Twitter feed over the coming days for further information and results.

All the very best to all competing over the next two weeks. Enjoy the experience and we have no doubt you will do the club proud!
