A blue and gold future - a first message from our new Director of Swimming!
| A first message from Ash Morris, Director of Swimming: Thank you to everybody for making me feel so welcome. I have been here for over two weeks now and I have been spending time getting to know the swimmers and our internal staff. It has also been great to meet some of the parents at Repton and at the competitions – if you see me, please do say hello.
Repton Swimming is an exciting place to be and I am really motivated to continue the good work that has been done so far. The swimmers development and wellbeing is a huge priority for our coaches and I would encourage open communication where possible so that we can work together.
We will be continuing to improve things and looking at evolving our structure for September 2023, which will allow swimmers to train in squads specific to their age, ability and goals – small changes may take place before then as we continue to strive for excellence.
Our Competition Calendar is being finalised for the remainder of the 22/23 Season and we will communicate this ASAP so that swimmers can prepare and so that parents can plan logistics where needed. We want to make sure that the April and July periods we are peaking in the pool, with important process competitions along the way. It’s clear that communication to parents and advanced planning is something that we need to improve on - please bear with me while I settle in and I can assure you that clear and proactive communication will be our priority.
The Repton values will be integral to our club – the behaviours that we lead our swimmers with and hold each other accountable to will be at the core of everything we do. High standards from coaches, swimmers and parents will be expected from everyone…lets all step up and make sure we are moving Repton Swimming on together. We must all challenge each other in a positive way to make sure that the swimmers fulfil their potential.
The Repton Swimming brand is important to us as we want to represent the club in a positive light, showing pride and unity along the way – with this in mind, a club kit order has been placed and we will have full stock in January so that blue and gold is very present on competition poolsides around the country. You will also notice over the next few months, some exciting Repton poolside upgrades and branding to truly make it a Repton Swimming home.
All in all, we want to make sure that we have the best possible opportunity for swimmers of all ages who are part of both the school and community that we have as Repton Swimming - we want to compete with the best swimmers in Great Britain.
Thank you and see you soon - Let's Go Repton!
