New Coaching Appointment
Repton Swimming are pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Taylor as our new Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach.
Working her way through the Swim England qualifications via her Learn 2 Swim teaching and volunteer coaching at both Repton and Ashbourne SC, Katie is an exciting young coach who beings energy to the poolside. Her empathetic nature and passion for developing young swimmers at training and during competitions, will add another level of care for our swimmers.
The Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach role was previously occupied by Marcus Birmingham, who has recently been promoted to Assistant Performance Coach. As Graduate Assistant Coach, Katie will support the whole programme, all swimmers and the coaching team. Working closely with and being mentored by our performance coaches, the new Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach will lead our Junior Club and Senior Club squads on a daily basis, including at competitions. This is an exciting and important role that will greatly support our swimming programme at Repton.
Ian Pollock, Chair of Repton Swimming, commented that "Katie is an exciting young coach who has has a clear drive, willingness to learn and a desire to support the swimming journey of young people. Her commitment during her short time working and volunteering at Repton has been highly impressive, and we know she will be an excellent addition to the team."
Katie is delighted to accept the role, adding: “I am really grateful for the opportunity and cannot wait to support the swimmers and coaching team. I am really excited to be part of the exciting evolution at Repton Swimming and it is something very special to be part of”
Katie will commence her new role when the new season begins at the end of August.
