English Schools' National Success

Ian Pollock

On Saturday 18th November, 28 pupils from Repton School travelled to Sandwell Aquatics Centre, the home of the Commonwealth Games 2022, for the English Schools' Swimming Association National Team Championships. Repton were represented in 5 of the 6 categories, in both the Freestyle and Medley relays. The event consists of the top 24 schools across England in each age category, competing in 4x50m relay events. In addition to the 5 Repton teams, club members Seth, Ethelbert and Joe were representing their school Erasmus Darwin Academy in the Intermediate Boys category, placing 16th.

Having previously secured 4 medals across 3 years at this national level since our first team qualified in 2018, Repton's performances were highly impressive, securing 4 Gold and 4 Bronze medals and 9 Finals, as well as breaking the Championship Record for the Intermediate Girls Medley in the heat and then again in the final!

We are grateful to our Parents for their support on the day in what was a large crowd for the occasion, plus many who were watching online from home! Now onto the Arena League Final Round and Swim England Winter Nationals!
