Seagulls Nationals 2025 Results
Following the end of the season we have the round up of all the racing that took place in Sheffield. Following the national window that took place from the 7th March to 11th May the swimmers are ranked in their age groups to determine if they make the Aquatics GB next generation champs top 24 or slightly less for the distance events. The next batch of swimmers will then qualify for the home nation events split between England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. For the swim England summer national depending on age group again a number of swimmers were selected from the national window rankings. In-between the events were the swim England national open water championships that had the involvement of Welsh and Scottish clubs this year which meant it was on the level of the highest it’s been in years.

Freya Treliving was competing at her 4th open water national’s and taking on the longest events on the calendar the 7.5k swim. This involved a lot of news skills to be incorporated to her training such as feeding and pacing. With the stress of GCSEs out the way she was able to get a real solid block of training done into this meet and that paid off massively. Freya finished in her highest ever finish of 11th place in a very strong field of swimmers.

Issac Thring was the first swimmer up for 6-day meet for seagulls competing at his first nationals. Isaac stepped up to the occasion massively with well executed heat swims to even better final swims to claim 2 medals and breaking 3 club records in the process.
