Olympic and Paralympic Hero's Return
Olympic and Paralympics Hero's Return
Poole Swimming Club is super proud to offer a massive well done to our Olympic and Para-Olympic Hero's.
Jacob Peters returns home earning 22nd in the 100m Butterfly.
Jacob started with Poole Swimming Club as an 8-year-old, who was spotted in a schools swimming gala. He worked his way up through the squads in the club to the very top of the sport. The experience gained being part of the most successful British Swimming Team, has left him super motivated in the charge to Paris 2024.

Teammate Leo McCrea represented Switzerland in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020, Leo was the youngest male swimmer at the games and has gained support from many areas including his football team Crystal Palace.
Leo competed in four races, making the final for his main event 100m Breast-stroke in which he earned 5th position. Leo further finished 11th in 400m Free, 15th in 200IM, and 16th in 100m Freestyle.
Leo calmly soaked in the atmosphere, loved the event as is already planning the next few seasons towards the 2024 Paris Paralympics

Its been a special year for Poole Swimming Club who celebrates its 90th Birthday, in style. This is the first time swimmers from the club have reached Olympic and Paralympic level.
Head Coach Barry Alldrick commented
"Both of these athletes have shown nothing but determination, it's been an emotional rollecoaster, their journey's over the years have been up, down sideways, but they have always kept their eye on the goal and no matter what has been thrown at them, they have both show character, adapted when they have needed to and have kept pushing all the way to make the Olympics and Paralympics and perform at the highest level. They are simply a huge inspiration on so many levels, but what is exciting is that they are still hungry for more and sights are firmly set on magical Paris"
Well done to your families, the coaches and squads that have worked with you and most of all well done Jacob and Leo!
