2021_22 Captains Announced
Captains Announced
Following brilliant performances by teams in the National Arena League Round 3, it became an apt juncture to appreciatively thank the current captains and welcome in the new captains.
The handing over of captains would normally be completed at the annual celebration evening. With this not being a physical meeting event this season. It seemed an appropriate time to hand over the reins.
The Club has 4 roles for each gender with a Senior Male and Female Captain and Vices, a Junior Male and Female Captain and Vice.
We would like to say a huge thank you to our outgoing captains who took on the added responsibility of guiding their teammates through COVID and keeping the infamous Poole Squad camaraderie tight. The Honorary Captains were kept on from the 2019/20 season, as they did not gain much opportunity to lead their teams at competitions.
During the last 12 months, the team of captain teams has seen Poole Swimming Clubs Junior teams Poole Roar finish 13th and Poole Pride finish 77th Nationally. Whilst the National Arena League 2021 Campaign has seen the A-Team finish 6th in the Premier Division and Runners Up of Division 1 in the Western Region

Whilst all our outgoing captains have all led by example and shown great commitment to the team, we bid a grateful farewell to Tom C who has not only progressed through the whole of the club and made top 24 rankings for his age in Britain but has been a supportive, fun, hard-working member of the club rising to all the challenges with a humble spirit to earn the successes he has.
We thank Tom for his service to the club, we praise him for his performances and wish him luck with his future endeavours.

New Captains
After some considerable discussion and voting by the Lead Coaches of each academy to agree on athletes with the right attributes required for the roles, the new captains were selected.
T-Shirts were presented by coaches Barry and Chris, followed by the secret traditional handshake which began on the banks of Poole Park a mere 90 years ago, the Captains were sworn in and their appointments applauded.
The New Captains will continue the following roles:
1) Prepare, motivate and deliver speeches at the Club Champs, Counties, Regionals, Nationals, Arena Junior and Arena Senior team events
2) Be a supportive voice between swimmers/coaches and vice-versa between coaches/swimmers.
3) Lead by example in areas such as pre pool/ stretching/ nutrition and lifestyle.
4) Support teammates at competitive, social and fundraising events throughout the whole club.
5) Uphold and encourage all club members to follow the PSC Values of Courage, Commitment, Honesty Unity, Respect, which can be viewed here: https://uk.teamunify.com/team/swrpsc/page/about-us/our-core-values
