RECORD BREAKING FORM CONTINUES
Club Record Breakers
We are proud to announce even more record-breaking swims following competitions over the past few weeks.
Coach Chris’s regional squad athletes earn record-breaking swims with Daria K continued her record-breaking form by lowering her own 50m Freestyle Club Record at the Arena League Round 3. Then at the complete another end of the freestyle spectrum, a day later at the Club Championships, Daria beat the 1500m record for her age, ending a record that was 12 years old. Squadmate Leo W made his first and second marks on the club records at the Swim Bournemouth Meet, where he earned Gold in all five of his events. The records were bagged in the 100m Freestyle and 100m IM.
Coach Jan’s national academy swimmers continue fine form with Cody and Jess making the record books. Following the 800m club record he broke in November, Cody thought he would take the 'distance double', where at the recent 1500m Club Championships he led his heat from start to finish to knock 12 seconds off the previous best mark in his age category. Jess H continues fine form and at the Portsmouth Christmas Meet and earned the triple or clean sweep of backstroke events in her age group by adding the 200m Back to the 100m and 50m records she gained earlier in the season.
In the Senior end of the club, Robbie H became the first man in Poole Swimming Club history to dip below 54 seconds in a 100m Backstroke as he made his first Senior Nationals Final at the Swim England Winter Championships in Sheffield at the start of December. A week later leading from start to finish he earned the 1500m Club Record for his age group, too. Jacob P in a winning performance for his club lowered his Club Senior Short Course Record in 100m Fly by all of 100th of a second in the Round 3 of the Arena League in December.
