Back to Back National Arena Junior League Finals Beckons as PSC Roar Claim Dorset Title

POOLE ROAR & POOLE DRAGONS

Poole SC hosted the third and final round of the 2024 National Arena Junior Swimming League at Rossmore Leisure Centre on Saturday 13^th July. Teams in attendance were Poole Roar, Poole Dragons, Seagulls Blue, Seagulls White and West Dorset S C. Following our earlier success in Rounds 1 and 2, our two teams stepped up once again demonstrating a fantastic team effort. The atmosphere on poolside was incredible and bot teams put on a great show.

With the results now in we are delighted to announce that both the Poole Roar and Poole Dragons teams have improved their overall placings. The Poole Roar were pushing hard to make a “Top 8” placing in the National League. Having been placed 8^th after Round 2, the team have done incredibly well to finish in 7^th spot. Not to be outdone the Dragons team have moved up 6 places to finish in 37^th place in the League this year.

Huge congratulations to both teams.

The top 8 teams in the National League are expecting to be invited to compete in the National final which will take place at Aqua Vale Swimming and Fitness Centre in Aylesbury on 15^th September.

The Final League placings after all 3 Rounds are: -

In the ‘Dorset Inter Club’ League the Poole Roar team finished in 1^st place and the Poole Dragons team finished in 3^rd place.

Once again, the coaching team would like to say a huge well done to our young swimmers. More importantly, we hope you enjoyed the gala and had fun with your teammates. The Poole Roar team narrowly missed out on a place in the National League final on its inauguration in 2022. In 2023, however the team did make the National final where they swam amazingly well to finish in 4^th place overall. Making it through to a national final again is a great achievement, and it shows that we are keeping pace with some very big clubs and programmes nationally.

The coaching team extends a huge thank you to all the officials, volunteers and helpers who gave their support on the day of the gala and in Rounds 1 and 2 through May and June. Team support is vitally important to us, and we value all the encouragement and help everyone continues to give. As we come to the end of the 2023/2024 season, we hope all our members enjoy a fantastic summer and we are excited and looking forward  to continuing the journey into the new season which begins in September.
