Trident Swimming Club is a competitive swimming club based at the crossroads of South Somerset, East Devon, and West Dorset, with a membership of approximately 100 swimmers who train at two key venues.
Originally established in 1976 as Chard & District Swimming Club, Trident Swimming Club has continued to grow and thrive. In 2023, the club was recognised as a national finalist for the prestigious Swimming Club of the Year award.
The club’s programme is dedicated to providing opportunities for swimmers of all levels who are inspired to develop their skills in one of the world’s most popular sports. Trident Swimming Club offers a fun and safe environment for athletes to master their craft, build confidence, and embrace the camaraderie of competitive swimming as part of a team.
Trident Swimming Club is affiliated with Swim England South West and Swim England, reflecting its commitment to maintaining high standards of training and governance. The club is managed by a team of dedicated and experienced volunteers who follow British Swimming regulations and operate in line with a clearly defined club constitution. The club’s Swim England SwimMark accreditation further highlights the exceptional quality of service provided to its members.
Trident Swimming Club is also proud of its heritage and grassroots achievements, including the contributions of notable figures such as Matthew Clay and the late John Farrant.
