October 2025 NewsLetter

Emma Wheeler

Dear Trident Family,

As we approach the end of another brilliant year of swimming, we wanted to share a few exciting updates, key dates, and reminders for the festive period. Our swimmers have continued to make us proud — from new personal bests and County qualifying times to fantastic teamwork at our fun relays and away meets.

🌟 Club Highlights

Parent Meeting – Sunday, 26th October 2025
Megan and Rob will be hosting a Parent Information Session to provide guidance and support around licensed meets — how they work, how to enter, and how parents can get involved. We encourage all parents, especially those new to competing, to attend.

TDSC Fun Relay – Sunday, 2nd November
The relay list of swimmers will be sent out on Saturday, 25th October. Please check your emails and the SportsEngine Motion app for arrival times and team information.

Counties Countdown – Somerset County Championships 2026
Congratulations to all swimmers who’ve achieved qualifying times so far! There are still plenty of opportunities to gain more at the upcoming West Dorset and Taunton Deane Meet (held the same weekend).

The Counties entry deadline is Monday, 16th December 2025, and all entries must be submitted via the club before this date.

The event will go live as soon as we have the meet pack released to us, and we’ll notify everyone through the SportsEngine Motion app and by email.

Please remember to check if your swimmer has achieved the qualifying times, as the Region will be verifying all entries this year. You can view your swimmer’s official times using the Swim England rankings page:

If you’re unsure after checking, please get in touch — we’ll be happy to confirm eligibility and assist with entries.

New Kit Orders – Deadline 31st October
The Wyvern kit window is open until 31st October — don’t miss out on new Trident gear!

Volunteers & Officials
Trident relies on volunteers! We’re always looking for parents to help as Team Managers, J1 Officials, or in fundraising and admin roles. Every bit of support helps our swimmers.

Committee Vacancy – Competition Secretary (from 2026)

From next year, we will have a vacancy for the role of Competition Secretary on the committee.

This role is vital in helping to coordinate gala entries, communicate with meet organisers, and support our coaching team with event planning.
If you’re organised, confident with admin, and would like to contribute to the running of the club, please contact us for more details — full training and handover will be provided.

Club Partnerships
We’re continuing to strengthen our links with Yeovil and Taunton Deane Swim Clubs, aligning meet schedules and working together to create more opportunities for our swimmers.

Competition Planning
Megan will be sending out the full competition calendar tomorrow. Our aim for 2026 is to attend one open meet per month, along with selected short meets, to give every swimmer regular racing opportunities.

💳 Membership Renewals

December is Annual Membership Renewal Month, including your Swim England membership. Details on renewal fees and payment instructions will be sent out in November 2025.

Please note that the club closes during festival and holiday periods, and monthly membership fees are structured to reflect this. There are no additional charges during planned breaks.

🏊 Training & Fun Galas

Trident hosts fun galas every three months. These are a vital part of every swimmer’s development, helping them practise race skills in a fun, friendly environment. If your swimmer’s training schedule is affected by a gala, please contact us to rearrange their session within the same month to keep consistency and progression on track.

💬 Coach’s Corner

It’s been fantastic to see Megan's Coaching corner on TU every week and please stay tuned for her updates.

💰 Club Support & Sponsorship Appeal

A massive reminder that Trident Swimming Club is run entirely by parents who volunteer their time through committee and poolside roles to ensure the club continues to run successfully.

Both pools have recently increased their hire costs, which means we’ll need to raise additional funds to cover rising expenses and sustain club activities.

We’re working hard to organise fundraising opportunities — but we’d love your help too! If you’re a business owner or know someone who may wish to sponsor the club, please get in touch. Even small local sponsorships make a big difference.

💙 Thank You

A huge thank you to all parents, swimmers, and volunteers for your continued support — the club simply wouldn’t exist without you.

We wish all our Trident families a great October half term and training is still operating as normal apart from Halloween night 31st.

All the Best
