Learn to Swim Lessons: Overview
The Club’s Learn to Swim programme is offered in two parts:
- Stages 1 – 6 take place on a Tuesday evening at Bloxham School Pool. These lessons take non-swimmers to the point at which they can comfortably swim 400 m front crawl unaided, and have confidence in the water with all four strokes. Swimmers can start on this programme from age 5, so if you have tried to book onto one of the Local Authority courses run at Spiceball and have had to join the waiting list for several months, then do try Banbury Swimming Club! We operate the same 'Stage' Scheme.
- Once swimmers have progressed to Stage 7 of the Learn to Swim programme, they are invited to further improve their swimming skills with the Club on a Thursday night and Sunday morning by joining the Club's Junior Squad. At these sessions the swimmers are taught how to progress to longer distances, and to further develop all stokes as well as learning how to dive and perform tumble turns.
The Local Authority and Banbury Swimming Club Learn to Swim progammes are completely integrated to each other so its easy to join us if you wish to!
