PERFORMANCE SQUADS
SENIOR PERFORMANCE
This squad will consist of swimmers aged 15+ years based on year of birth. A maximum of 18 swimmers will be allocated to SP. If more than 18 swimmers in this age range reach the required entry criteria, a priority ranking system will be used, based on world aquatics points alongside the professional judgement of the coaches and best fit for the swimmer. The swimmers will specialise in swimming and be performance focused.
Entry Criteria:
Entry into this squad is through the attainment of the entry standards as well as the completion of the test set criteria. Selection is based on ability and the consistent capability to meet the day-to-day requirements. All final decisions will be at the discretion of the Lead Coach and Director of Swimming.
Test Set Criteria
- Race Specific Test 24x50 No1 (60/65) Holding BES200 or faster with race profile detail.
- Kick Test: Monitored Speed or Capacity based on physiological need and event demands
- Aerobic Capacity: 12x200 FR (3.00) PB+30sec holding aerobic detail (12-15 SC/4+ UWK/Even Pacing).
Entry Standards
- Commitment Criteria - attend all agreed training units per week (90% minimum)
- Demonstrate adherence to a performance lifestyle in all areas.
- Swimmers specialise in swimming and are fully committed to a year-round training programme.
- Enter and compete in all meets as outlined by the squad coach.
- Be a positive role model for all swimmers and adhere to the CWSC values.
Transitions:
- Continue at a London University, Senior National University Programme or US College; movement to National Training Centres (NTCs).
- Movement to Gold Squad if the swimmer is unable to maintain criteria for SP or would like to pursue alternative development options within aquatics for better balance, or different opportunities based on their motivations.
Accepting a position in this squad comes with accountability and responsibility. Swimmers who accept a place will be required to adhere to the squad criteria. Attendance will be recorded and reviewed per cycle. This squad is designed to get the absolute best out of each swimmer and to challenge their potential.
SENIOR SPRINT PERFORMANCE
This squad will consist of swimmers aged 17+ years based on year of birth. A maximum of 8 swimmers will be allocated to SSP. If more than 8 swimmers in this age range reach the required entry criteria, a priority ranking system will be used, based on World Aquatics Points alongside the professional judgement of the coaches and best fit for the swimmer. The swimmers will specialise in swimming and be performance focused.

Entry into this squad is through the attainment of the entry standards as well as the completion of the test set criteria. Selection is based on ability and the consistent capability to meet the day-to-day requirements. All final decisions will be at the discretion of the Lead Coach and Director of Swimming.
Test Set Criteria
- Anaerobic Capacity and Power work with the ability to hold 100 BEP/rate, 50m rate efforts.
- Kick Test: Monitored Speed or Capacity based on physiological need and event demands
- Aerobic Capacity: 12x100 FR (1.40) PB+15sec holding aerobic detail (12-15 SC/4+ UWK/Even Pacing).
Entry Standards
- Commitment Criteria - attend all agreed training units per week (90% minimum)
- Demonstrate adherence to a performance lifestyle in all areas.
- Swimmers specialise in sprint swimming and therefore have a bit more flexibility over their event ownership. Adhere to commitment outlined by the Director of Swimming.
- Enter and compete in all meets as outlined by the squad coach.
- Be a positive role model for all swimmers and adhere to the CWSC values.
Transitions:
- Continue at a London University, Senior National University Programme or US College; movement to National Training Centres (NTCs).
- Movement to Gold Squad if the swimmer is unable to maintain criteria for SSP or would like to pursue alternative development options within aquatics for better balance, or different opportunities based on their motivations.

Senior Sprint Performance Timetable
JUNIOR PERFORMANCE 1
This squad will consist of swimmers aged 13-16 years old based on year of birth. A maximum of 18 swimmers will be allocated to JP1. If more than 18 swimmers in this age range reach the required entry criteria, a priority ranking system will be used, based on World Aquatics points alongside the professional judgement of the coaches and best fit for the swimmer. The swimmers will prioritise swimming and be performance focused; multisport students will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Entry into this squad is through attainment of the entry standards as well as the completion of the test set criteria. Selection is based on ability and the consistent capability to meet the day-to-day requirements. All final decisions will be at the discretion of the Assistant Head Coach in conjunction with the Director of Swimming.
Test Set Criteria
• Aerobic Capacity: 10x200 FR (3.20) PB+30sec holding aerobic detail (12-15 SC/4+ UWK/Even Pacing).
• Kick Test: 200m Kick Test under 03:30.0.
• IM Stroke & Skill Test: 12x100 IM (1.50) PB+15 holding aerobic detail (SC/4+ UWK/Crossover Turn)

• Demonstrate adherence to a performance lifestyle in all areas
• Swimmers prioritise swimming and are fully committed to a year-round training programme.
• Enter and compete in all meets as outlined by the squad coach.
• Be a positive role model for all swimmers and adhere to the CWSC values
Transitions:
• Movement to Senior Performance squads given the age profile and squad structure. Swimmer fast tracking may occur.
• Movement to Gold squad if the swimmer is unable to maintain criteria for JP1, or would like to pursue alternative development options within their school based on their motivations and choice.

Junior Performance 1 Timetable
JUNIOR PERFORMANCE 2
This squad will consist of swimmers aged 11-14 years old based on year of birth. A maximum of 21 swimmers will be allocated to JP2. If more than 21 swimmers in this age range reach the required entry criteria, a priority ranking system will be used, based on World Aquatics points alongside professional judgement and best fit for the swimmer. The swimmers will prioritise swimming and be performance focused; multisport students will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Entry into this squad is through attainment of the entry standards as well as the completion of the test set criteria. Selection is based on ability and the consistent capability to meet the day-to-day requirements. • Aerobic Capacity: 12x100 FR (1.45) holding aerobic detail (12-15 SC/4+ UWK/Even Pacing).
• Kick Test: 200m No1 Kick under 04:00.0
Entry Standards
• Commitment Criteria - Attend all agreed number training sessions per week
• Full commitment to the competitive objectives of the squad.
• Enter and compete in all competition as outlined by the squad coach.
• Be a positive role model and adhere to the CWSC values.
Transitions:
• Movement to Junior Performance 1 if attained the criteria and deemed best fit.
• Movement to Silver or Gold squad if the swimmer is unable to maintain criteria, or would like to pursue alternative development options within the their school based on their motivations and choice.
